  Abstract

Many applications make efforts to gain insights about users or customers based on data in relational databases (RDBs). RDBs contain not only explicit entity linkages exposed through the database schema, but also inherent entity linkages that can be indirectly extracted from explicit entity linkages. In order to discover insights, it is necessary to extract these inherent entity linkages, but there has not been much research on how to effectively extract inherent entity linkages. In addition, techniques for transferring RDBs to graph databases have been proposed, but these techniques only extract explicit entity linkages. Therefore, in this paper, weighted entity linkage and its relational representation, ε-relation are defined, and a technique with the weighted linkage composition operation is proposed for deriving inherent entity linkages. Finally, an example is demonstrated to show how to extract a graph from a database using this technique.
