  Abstract

This study aims to identify the causes of poor performance of NBA teams through data analysis and propose strategic optimization measures based on the findings. The research utilizes data from the official NBA website and Basketball Reference to conduct the analysis, applying multiple regression analysis and clustering analysis to derive key variables that significantly impact victories. Based on these analytical results, an optimal player acquisition strategy was proposed, and to validate the feasibility of the suggested strategy, simulations were conducted using the NBA 2K simulator, focusing on the Golden State Warriors (GSW) team. The findings of this study are expected to contribute to establishing a strategic direction for improving basketball team performance through a data-driven approach. By systematically analyzing the key factors that influence victories, the study provides practical insights into the decision-making process for team operations and player composition. The proposed optimization measures in this study are anticipated to enhance the applicability of sports management and analytics and contribute to the establishment of efficient team operation strategies.
